You have answered your own question. Now do what you know you need to do. If you don’t, nothing will EVER change.
Good luck!

Living your current life has, presumably, put you into debt. I don’t think anyone can promise you a method to get you out of debt without your making changes.
Things that you can do include:
- spending less, even if you still go out
- making more than minimum payments on credit cards; pay more than you’ve charged for the month plus the interest due
- negotiate for lower interest rates on credit cards
- don’t charge things on credit cards
- start saving money so that you have resources should the unexpected occur
Your public library should have books that help you gain control of your finances. In addition, I’m sure there are several online sites.
Don’t expect things to be easy, or a quick fix. But with a little planning, you can start gaining your financial independence.

Pay off your credit cards first–use a personal loan from a bank (less interest) or a loan from Mom and Dad. Then make and stick to a budget for expenses each month. Whenever you get extra money (birthdays, holidays etc), put it toward the debt. If you get a raise at work, put it toward the debt. Stop using your credit cards and pay cash.

Go to this site. To get full use of it ~ you’ll have to subscribe to the newsletter ~ about two bucks a month ~ or 24 for a year. But, its worth it. The orginator of the site, and newsletter, once had over $100,000 in credit card debt ~ she didn’t get her house forclosed on ~ she didn’t get her car repoed, and she paid off the $100,000 in credit card debt. Well worth it!

I think that getting out of debt should be a mildy painful process so as to discourage further use of debt as a lifestyle. Just face it. Life will change if you decided to do this yourself. But when you get out of debt, just think of the options that you will open yourself up to with hundereds of extra dollars every month.
