well remember in starwars how han solo is smuggleing for jaba and he see’s the imperials and drops his load??? well he then owes jaba all that money which he has trouble paying back. so then jabab sends bounty hunters and assasin droids after him untill he is finally frozen in carbonite. think about it do you wanna be frozen in carbonite??

> My debt is now 145 bucks, which i would have payed had they not harassed me at work.
Hard to reconcile that with the fact that you didn’t pay it for so long voluntarily.
Anyway, if you don’t pay it, it will probably continue to increase, and at a certain point you will not be able to renew your license or registration or both until it is paid.

Most of the time but I guess in your case it didn’t work they will reduce your ticket. But I would pay cause they can take away your car, which is probably the worse that can happen. That wouldn’t be good. It will also be on your credit report. You will more than likely have that debt taking out of your tax refund money next year anyways. I had that happen to me, so you would be paying it anyways!! Good Luck!

$145 seems REALLY excessive.
First, you can tell them to stop calling at work, that’s not allowed.
Second, you can request a full accounting of the number and how it was reached. If that looks legitimate they are not required to negotiate. If it’s iffy, offer to take them to small claims court and see how fast they change their tune.
